Lyrics are the words that make up a song that usually contains verses and choruses. The song is written by the lyricist. The term for an opera-like extended musical composition, however, is commonly referred to as a “libretto” and to its author as a “librettist”. The meaning of the song can be clear or implicit. Some songs are abstract, almost unintentional, and, in such cases, their exploration emphasizes form, expression, meter, and symmetry of expression. Rappers can also create lyrics (often with a variation of rhyme words) that are spoken in a rhythmic manner rather than sung.
